To fight effectively against them, it is fundamental to strengthen the links, cooperation and exchange of information between police forces and Member States’ competent authorities! Europol is playing a crucial role in this regard and must be encouraged.
The series of spectacular police raids which took place in several European countries recently shows how much cooperation and exchange of information between police forces and national judicial authorities can make a difference in the fight against terrorism and organised crime. When criminals know no border, police cooperation should not have borders either! My column in l’Opinion
